We all know the word “Cloud Computing”, many of us hear it, see it online and even read articles about it. Even I was confused to know what exactly it was a year ago.

Here I come with some simple words that can help you to understand cloud better, and what exactly is cloud computing and why business owners and organizations are using it more.

The cloud is nothing but an online storage arrangement for files, folders or data and accessible for use whenever required. We all are using the cloud in various forms in day today life of ours without knowing all about it.

Are you thinking, what is that we are using as a cloud in our day today life? Then the best example is your email. All the information or data contain in your email folders are stored in the cloud, which you can accesses from anywhere in the world with an internet connection. You can access your data from any computer or smart phone. Then the answer is, there are three (3) different types of cloud computing subscriptions available for use in the market today and they are:

1 – Software as a service (SaaS):

Software as a service, very simple, the cloud computing service providers offer storage place for software and this software can be get accessed to use, for every authorized subscribers. There is absolutely no need for you to install the software on your PC, smart phone or any gadget to block storage space. You can make use of it from cloud itself if you have an access. You simply need to pay for the SaaS cloud service and can access the software fee without having worries about downloading and latest updates of the software.


2 – Platform as a service (PaaS):

A business owner gets complete platform like servers, storage and networking form the cloud computing service provider. You are free to make use (PaaS) to host the data or applications that you want to host if you buy this service. You need to develop your own applications or set up your own data. The PaaS cloud computing provider will provide expensive hardware needed to host your applications and data, so there are no worries for you about the hardware.


3 – Infrastructure as a service (IaaS):

Infrastructure as a service (IaaS) is the most complete kind of cloud computing service that takes care of all the details like storage, servers, security, operating environment etc. IaaS often forms the basis for other services as the SaaS and PaaS.
